Slimming World’s Greatest Loser who was size XXXXXXXL sheds incredible 20 STONE

At 33st 12lb and size XXXXXXXL, Jon Vidler’s hopes of being a winner in love were slender – but not now after becoming Slimming World’s Greatest Loser 2019.

His 20st 7lb weight loss is so dramatic that even his own family can barely recognise him.

He now tops the scales at 13st 5lb and can buy medium-size clothes after reducing his former 66in waist by more than half.

Jubilant Jon, 42, said after his victory: “I feel I have a second chance.

“I want to fill it with things I missed out on due to being so heavy. Meeting someone special would be amazing.”

Previously he could barely stand for more than a few minutes and was prone to panic attacks caused by worrying about his weight.

Those and other health scares drove him to join a pal at a Slimming World group in Chandler’s Ford, Hants.

Jon saw his weight plummet after being inspired to eat healthily and take up walking.

He now races and is training to climb Mount Snowdon next month.

“At my biggest I struggled with severe anxiety,” said Jon, a pharmaceutical firm’s senior quality officer.

“At one point I was rushed to hospital by ambulance, with both I and the paramedics thinking I was having a heart attack.

“Thankfully I wasn’t but I was at a low ebb and hid away. My only comfort was eating.”

His bulk made one routine operation very dangerous, with doctors fearing he would have a stroke, and once he had to be pulled from a CT scanner as it was such a tight fit.

“The motorised table even ceased to work due to the extra weight,” he said.

“I was told the only option was referral to an equine centre that scans horses. Moments like that really struck home.”
