SW recipe: Stir-Fried beef in oyster sauce

Serves 4 Ready in about 25 minutes


600g frying steak, visible fat removed, thinly sliced

5 tbsp oyster sauce

2 garlic cloves, crushed

2 tsp fresh root ginger, finely grated


275g dried medium egg noodles

2 x 300g packs mixed vegetable stir-fry

2 tsp fish sauce

Juice of 1 lime


1 Put the steak in a bowl with 2 tbsp oyster sauce and the garlic and ginger. and toss to coat.

2 Spray a non-stick wok or large frying pan with Frylight and place over a medium-high heat. Stir-fry the steak for 1-2 minutes. or until browned. then remove from the pan and set aside.

3 Cook the noodles according to the pack instructions, then drain.

4 While the noodles are cooking, wipe out the pan and spray with a little more Frylight. Stir-fry the vegetables with 2 tbsp water over a medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes until just tender. Return the steak to the pan with any cooking juices and the fish sauce, lime juice and remaining oyster sauce, and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes, or until piping hot. Serve with the noodles.
