SW recipe: Tarka Dal

Ingredients:

250g Dried Red Lentils
1 Chopped Onion
1/2 tsp Tumeric
2.5 cm Root Ginger
200g Canned Tomatoes
600 ml Vegetable Stock
1 tsp Cumin Seeds
For Garnish Coriander

TARKA:

Low Calorie Cooking Spray
1/2 Peeled & Thinly Sliced Red Onion
2 tsp Black Mustard Seeds
1 Thinly Sliced Garlic Cloves
Deseeded & Chopped Tomato

RICE
100g Rice

Method:

Wash your lentils in cold running water through a sieve works very well, then pop them into the slow-cooker add all the ingredients for the Dal.

Leave them in the slow cooker on high for 4 hours.

About fifteen mins before your Dal is ready pop on your rice to boil.

When your Dal id ready prepare your Tarka and serve alongside your boiled rice. Enjoy
