SW recipe: Tropical porridge

Serves 1
Syns per serving 13
Deduct 7 Syns if using the oats as a Healthy Extra ‘b’; 6 Syns if using the skimmed milk as a Healthy Extra ‘a’, or deduct 13 Syns if using both
Ready in 15 minutes


40g Quaker Rolled Oats
350ml skimmed milk
Pinch each of ground allspice and cinnamon
½ tsp vanilla extract
65g fresh mango flesh, chopped into small chunks
1 passion fruit, halved


1 Put the oats, milk, spices and vanilla extract in a small saucepan and place over a medium-high heat. Bring to a gentle simmer, stirring frequently, then cook for
5-8 minutes, stirring continuously, until the milk thickens and the porridge oats are cooked through and soft. Alternatively, microwave everything on full power for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

2 Top with the mango and the pulp and seeds of the passion fruit.

If you prefer not to use your Healthy Extra ‘a’ serving of milk, swap it for 350ml water and stir in a little fat-free natural yogurt or fromage frais before adding the fruit. Syns per serving 7, or deduct 7 Syns if using the oats as a Healthy Extra ‘b’
